HP is the most common business laptop brand in South African offices, banks and government departments. That is good news for you as a buyer. What specs do you actually need?

Processor
An Intel Core i5 of the 8th generation or newer is right for roughly 80% of buyers. An i3 is fine for browsing and documents. Choose an i7 only for a specific demanding workload such as video editing or large datasets.
RAM
8GB covers browsing, email, Office and video calls. Step up to 16GB for heavy multitasking, virtual machines or Adobe software.
Storage
A 256GB SSD suits most people, especially with cloud storage to secure your data. An SSD rather than a mechanical drive is the single biggest speed difference you will feel, and every laptop we sell has one.
Screen
14 inch is the most portable and the most requested size. 15.6 inch gives you more screen for a little extra weight. Hint: use a docking station at home and at the office for a quick plug and play setup that keeps your laptop portable.
Windows 11
Machines from 8th generation Intel Core onwards meet Microsoft's Windows 11 requirement. Some of our older laptops run Windows 10. Microsoft ended free updates in October 2025, but your laptop works exactly as it did before. Use a good antivirus, keep your browser updated and download software from trusted sites. Perfect for email, Office, browsing and online classes.

It is confirmed to work as it did when manufactured, and often better due to upgrades such as memory. Every laptop we sell comes with genuine Windows Professional and a 1-year warranty.

Are refurbished laptops reliable?

Yes. Business grade HP, Dell and Lenovo machines are engineered for five to seven years of daily use. Most of ours are retired after two to three. Every unit carries a 1-year hardware warranty and local South African support.

How much cheaper are refurbished laptops than new?

Typically 40% to 70% less than the equivalent new model. A laptop that retailed around R20 000 new often sells for R5 000 to R8 000 refurbished, with the same everyday performance.

What is the difference between Grade A, B and C?

The grade describes how the laptop looks, never how it works. All three grades are fully tested and carry the same 1-year warranty.

  • Grade A: Good condition. Minor signs of use, such as light scratches or marks.
  • Grade B: Fair condition. Moderate signs of use, such as noticeable scratches, marks or dents.
  • Grade C: Heavy signs of use, such as prominent scratches, marks, dents or wear. This is our best value option if looks do not matter to you.

Yes. Every laptop ships with genuine, licensed Microsoft Windows Professional, activated and tested before dispatch. Pro rather than Home matters if you need BitLocker, Remote Desktop or to join a workplace domain.
