Should I buy a hard drive or an SSD?
For the drive your computer starts from, an SSD is far faster. A hard drive is better value for bulk storage and backups, where speed matters less than capacity per rand.
What is the difference between 2.5" and 3.5" hard drives?
2.5" drives fit laptops and small form factor PCs. 3.5" drives fit desktop towers and most SFF desktops, and offer more capacity for the price.
What does RPM mean on a hard drive?
RPM is how fast the disks spin. A 7200RPM drive reads and writes faster than a 5400RPM drive, which is common in laptops because it uses less power and runs cooler.
