Why businesses buy refurbished from Device Shop

The laptops and desktops we sell are the same business models South African banks, insurers and corporates buy new: HP EliteBook and EliteDesk, Dell Latitude and OptiPlex, Lenovo ThinkPad and ThinkCentre. When those fleets come off lease, we test, securely wipe, clean and grade every machine, load genuine Windows Professional and sell it with a 1-year warranty, typically for 40% to 70% less than the same spec new.

Lower cost per seat

Business-grade machines for the price of entry-level consumer laptops, so your budget equips more people or buys a better spec.

Identical, managed fleets

Matched batches from the same corporate fleet make imaging, support and spares simpler, and every machine runs Windows Professional for domain join, BitLocker and Remote Desktop.

Local support

A 1-year warranty with branches in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town, and parts, batteries and chargers in stock for the models we sell.

Less e-waste

Every refurbished machine is one less new device manufactured and one less working computer in landfill, which helps with your sustainability reporting.

Business and bulk orders: frequently asked questions

Do you sell refurbished laptops and computers in bulk?

Yes. We buy ex-corporate HP, Dell and Lenovo laptops and desktops in large batches from company fleets, so we can supply identical machines in volume to businesses, schools, colleges, call centres and NGOs anywhere in South Africa.

Is there a minimum order quantity?

No. You can buy a single machine online. For volume pricing, tell us how many laptops or desktops you need and what they must run, and we will quote on matched units.

Can you supply identical machines?

Usually, yes. Most of our stock arrives in matched batches from the same corporate fleet, so we can often supply the same model, processor and spec across a whole office. The machines listed on this page are ones we currently have three or more of.

Can you upgrade RAM and storage before delivery?

Yes. We can upgrade memory and fit SSDs to your spec before the machines ship, so every unit arrives ready to work. Include the spec you need in your quote request.

Do the computers come with Windows?

Yes. Every laptop and desktop ships with genuine, licensed Microsoft Windows Professional, activated and tested. Windows Pro matters for business because it supports joining a domain or Microsoft Entra ID, BitLocker encryption and Remote Desktop.

What warranty do business orders get?

The same 1-year warranty as every Device Shop machine, with local support from our branches in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town.

Do you supply VAT invoices?

Yes. Our prices are shown excluding VAT, and every order comes with a tax invoice for your records.

Do you deliver bulk orders nationwide?

Yes. We deliver anywhere in South Africa, and you can also arrange to collect from one of our branches. Most orders ship within one to two working days; large configured orders can take longer, and we confirm the timing on the quote.

Is refurbished equipment a good choice for a business?

For most office work, yes. Ex-corporate business laptops and desktops were built for years of daily use, cost far less than new and do the same job for Office, email, browsing, accounting and call centre software. Buying refurbished also keeps working equipment out of landfill.
