A till, a kiosk, a machine-control PC or a single legacy program that needs an older version of Windows.
Legacy connections
Many business desktops of this era still have a serial (COM) port, which some older tills, scales and lab equipment need.
Not for modern browsing
Today's websites and video calls are slow on a Core 2 Duo, and Windows 11 is not supported. Choose a Core i3 or i5 for everyday use.

Is a Core 2 Duo computer still usable?
For very basic tasks such as a single program, a till or a simple kiosk, yes. For browsing, Office and modern websites, a Core i3 or Core i5 desktop is far faster and often costs only a little more.
Can a Core 2 Duo run Windows 11?
No. Core 2 Duo processors do not meet Microsoft's Windows 11 requirements. For Windows 11, choose an 8th generation or newer Core i3 or Core i5.
